LON: Lengthening Over Nail

An intramedullary nail is placed inside the bone and a lightweight external fixator drives the daily lengthening. Because the nail supports the bone from within, patients walk with a walker within days, and the frame comes off after distraction ends (around 2-3 months) rather than staying on through consolidation. The nail then protects the new bone while it hardens. LON is the workhorse of cosmetic lengthening in Turkey: the best balance of cost, safety, and mobility.

Precice 2, fully internal magnetic nail

A motorized nail is implanted inside the bone and lengthened by holding an external remote-control magnet against the leg for a few minutes, several times daily.
